Welcome to another post for the Global Design Project. This week we are CASEing the Designer and today’s card is inspired by Michelle Last. Michelle one of the UK’s top Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators, but more than that, she is an artist when it comes to ink and paper. I truly get inspired my her creations each week, so it is a pleasure to CASE this card.
My favorite part of Michelle’s card is the layout; and who doesn’t love the clever way she created a shaker card within the butterfly? You can see how the layout inspired my card today. I pushed the center panel up to the edge of the card for a different look, but the similarities carry through.
I did change the colors a bit and you can see my palette below. Mint Macaron is my favorite from the 2015–2017 In Color collection and I found this perfect piece of Designer Series Paper in the Birthday Bouquet collection. The collection also utilizes Blushing Bride, so I thought it fitting to match. Crumb Cake is a must-have neutral that works in so many combinations; I CASEd it directly from the inspiration photo.
Embellishing the card is a two-layer butterfly from the Butterlies Thinlits; one layer from Blushing Bride Cardstock and the other from Vellum Cardstock. The banner behind it is also two layers cut with the Banner Triple Punch. This time I see Gold Foil Sheets and another piece of Designer Series Paper from Birthday Bouquet.
Sequins from the Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit are scattered to pay homage to Michelle’s shaker card and a bit of Gold 1/8″ Ribbon carries the metallic color through.
The sentiment is from the new Party Pants Sale-a-Bration stamp set which you can earn for free with a $50 purchase. It was embossed using Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed the card today and I do appreciate all your comments. Leave one below. I am also happy to answer any questions you may have.
