Celebrate Today

Celebrate Today by Stampin' Up!

Monday means Global Design Project! Today’s challenge is a sketch by Teneale Williams. I went with a loose take on the sketch this week by separating a couple of the elements.

Global Design Project GDP042

I started by stamping the “happy” balloon from Celebrate Today with Flirty Flamingo ink on Whisper White cardstock. Using the same ink, I stamped over the same balloon with the confetti stamp from the same set. After allowing the ink to dry, the birthday sentiment was embossing with Gold Stampin’ Emboss powder.

This stamp set pairs with Balloons Framelits, which I used to cut out the balloon. I also cut two strings of banners from Gold Foil Sheets. The basket was stamped with Tip Top Taupe ink on the same cardstock and snipped out by hand.

To create a fun background for my balloon, I used the new Always an Adventure bundle to create a scene. Pool Party and Mint Macaron cardstock were cut using the Outdoor Adventure Framelits dies. I also used the clouds in the stamp set with Soft Sky ink behind the balloon.

I hope you enjoyed the card today. Remember to join us at Global Design Project and show us your take on this week’s sketch.

I love how you paired the balloon with the mountains and pines – a perfect setting! And I totally thought there must have been a die for the basket. Great fussy-cutting!

What a fun card Shawn! Your basket looks like it was die cut, so precise is your fussy cutting. I am impressed!
