I’m back with this week’s Global Design Project color challenge! We have a great combination to play with and a special prize for participating in this week’s challenge; details are at the end of the post.
This week’s colors of Basic Black and Smoky Slate are contrasted with a pop of Melon Mambo. This is such a classic combination, you’ll want to write it down. Because it has modern appeal, I opted for a simple card balanced with lots of white space.
The Mixed Borders stamp set from Stampin’ Up! makes it super easy to put together a card like this.
The set includes several border designs that can be used individually or combined with other collections in the Annual Catalog. The set also includes several sentiments for multiple occasions.
The borders in this set are unique too because they include a space that is intentionally left blank to fit the sentiments.
I decorated the space using splattered hearts from the Perpetual Birthday Calendar stamp set, a couple of heart-shaped sequins and Metallic Enamel Shapes.
For my card, I used the Layering Circles Framelits to pop the sentiment up. I first cut the greeting with one of the circles then found the matching scalloped circle to cut out Melon Mambo cardstock for a little border. Dimensionals pop the sentiment up from the card.
Play along with this week’s color challenge and you could win a spot as a guest designer on a future Global Design Project challenge. Click here for details.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed the card and play along along with us at Global Design Project. We love to see all of your projects and who knows, you may be featured in our next challenge.
