Welcome to InKing Royalty’s February Blog Hop! Today’s Blog Hop is filled with projects inspired by a Birthday Bliss theme. What fun! Stampin’ Up! catalogs are filled with fun, festive and beautiful ways to make birthdays special—and we are excited to share our creations with you today. We are also excited to welcome guest designer Michelle Last to our team’s blog hop this month. After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
One of the first stamps I just had to get when the Occasions Catalog was introduced was Super Duper. I just love the modern-retro style of these stamp sets and the sample cards in the catalog just had me at hello. Today, I’m sharing two ways to present the same card.
My first sample is super simple. Just a few ink colors, a Stamp-a-ma-jig and some washi tape made it easy to create a multi-color impression of the sentiment. I chose analogous colors (those that are close together on the color wheel). Watermelon Wonder, Tangerine Tango and Peekaboo Peach were stamped by masking with washi tape and stamping one section at a time to get three colors on a single stamp. A Stamp-a-ma-jig made it easy to line up the image over itself.
Daffodil Delight adds a little brightness, but is also analogous to the the red and orange colors. I love the additional little details included in the stamp set. When they’re placed in the right spot, they embellish the sentiment without taking away from the focal point.
This stamp set makes a one-layer card super simple and you may also call it Super Duper.
For another look, I embellished the one-layer card with another color: Bermuda Bay. Choosing a color from the other side of the color wheel adds another layer of brightness to the card.
Here, I stamped “Party” and cut it out by hand before popping up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A little Bermuda Bay Baker’s Twine wrapped around the bottom, tied into a knot and frayed adds texture and ties in the color. Finally, a couple of sequins pulled from our Sequin Trim finishes the card.
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop, Pam Morris at Tap Tap Stamp. There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group—and you don’t want to miss it!
