Carousels & Cupcakes + Suite Sentiments

Welcome! Today I have something “suite” to share with you. The Suite Sentiments stamp set and Cupcakes & Carousels product suite by Stampin’ Up! This is such a great collection of stamping supplies not only because the great colors and artwork in the suite, but because it also fits perfectly with this week’s Global Design Project theme challenge. This week’s challenge is to create a project based on the theme: amusement park.

Suite Sentiments by Stampin' Up!

When I reviewed my stamp stash for ideas to complete this week’s challenge, I knew immediately that I wanted to used the “enjoy” stamp from the Suite Sentiments stamp set. This stamp set includes lots of greetings that pair well with each of the products suites available in this year’s Occasions catalog. “Enjoy” pairs perfectly with the Cupcakes & Carousels suite.

I started by stamping the sentiment with a two-tone look. I inked the stamp with Pool Party Classic Stampin’ Ink then immediately inking the bottom half of the sentiment with Bermuda Bay ink too. Don’t worry about colors mixing on your ink pads if you use a lighter shade of the same hue over a darker one. I also stamped the circus tents form the Carousel Birthday stamp sent with Bermuda Bay ink over a patterned paper from the Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Paper Stack.

The card base was made by spraying some color to Very Vanilla Cardstock using a Stampin’ Spritzer. To make a color spray, use 90% Isopropyl Alcohol (rubbing alcohol) with 10 or so drops of your favorite Classic Stampin’ Ink Refill; I used Calypso Coral. You can also use water, but the alcohol dries quicker so your paper is less likely to buckle.

The Cupcakes & Carousels Embellishment Kit includes lots of fun accessories you can use to dress up your cards and projects. I used the pre-cut frame to stamp my sentiment. I also love the gradient ribbon, baker’s twine and tassel. The kit includes sequins, but I chose Bermuda Bay sequins from Sequin Trim and gold Metallic Enamel Dots.

Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Paper Stack

One of the best parts of the Cupcakes & Carousels Suite is the color scheme. The Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Paper Stack has lots of grungy, distressed patterns in Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, Early Espresso, Peekaboo Peach, So Saffron and Very Vanilla. Of course you can use your own color combinations, but the paper stack makes it super easy to come up with a great look.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed the project today. If you’d like to share a project in the theme: amusement park, please do so at Global Design Project. We love to see your ideas.
