Message In a Bottle stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Puns get a bad rep, but how can you say no to this super adorable stamp set by Stampin’ Up!? Message in a Bottle is a fun, new nautical stamp set you can find in the 2017–2018 Annual Catalog. Besides this octopus, there is a mermaid, whale and ship with lots of sentiments that will give you a pun for your money. (Did you catch that?)

Global Design Project #GDP092

Play along with this week’s challenge at Global Design Project.

Today’s card is inspired by Global Design Project challenge #GDP092; a CASE the Designer Challenge featuring Steffi Helmschrott of Germany. I love Steffi’s clean and simple style with lots of hand-colored or painted elements. She is truly one of my favorites. Is it any wonder that she is also on Stampin’ Up!’s Artisan Design Team?

My CASE (Copy And Share Everything) is closely related to Steffi’s design. The most obvious change is that I used all new products in the Annual Catalog. The octopus was stamped using one of the five new In Color® inks: Fresh Fig. The bottle is Pool Party with stamped-off water in the same. A Crumb Cake cork seals the bottle shut.

The shimmery background is a piece of Foil Frenzy Specialty Designer Series Paper on a base of Fresh Fig cardstock. This touch of shine adds a lot to this simple card. I didn’t break out the sewing machine, but a hand-drawn stitched edge finishes the card and holds the imagery together.

I hope you enjoyed the card today. Take some time and show how Steffi’s card inspires you at Global Design Project.
