Icing on the Cake

Icing on the Cake by Stampin' Up!

I can’t think of another type of card you may use more than birthday cards and the Stampin’ Up! 2017–2018 Annual Catalog has tons of great options to help you make them. Today I’m sharing a simple card using the Icing on the Cake stamp set. I knew I needed this set in my collection the moment I laid eyes on it. Can you imagine the possibilities for decorating a card with these great icing images?

Today’s card is inspired by Global Design Project #GDP094, a Sketch Challenge. These challenges are so fun to participate in and remember to Pin them on Pinterest. They make a great reference time and again.

ShawnStamps ColorCue #019

My ColorCue for this card includes two new InColors—Powder Pink and Lemon Lime Twist—with a classic favorite—Calypso Coral. I love how bright Lemon Lime Twist contradicts the soft pink tones.

With the sketch challenge in mind, I stamped one of the icing images repeatedly in the background with Powder Pink and the birthday sentiment in Calypso Coral. Next I stamped a rose with Calypso Coral. This is a two-step stamp so the lower layer is stamped-off to lighten the color a bit. Lemon Lime Twist leaves add to the design and Lemon Lime Twist 1/4″ Ombre Ribbon adds a finishing touch.

I hope you enjoyed the card today. Please leave a comment below if you did. I love reading them. Play along with Global Design Project and share your project inspired by today’s sketch.
