Lovely Wishes

Welcome to another Global Design Project challenge. Today it’s a CASE (Copy And Share Everything) the Designer challenge and it’s one of my favorite designers ever: Louise Sharp! Louise has a way of making “simple” the most beautiful thing you’ve ever seen, and this week’s CASE card is a great example of that.

Louise’s lovely little wreath inspired me to use the Lovely Wishes stamp set from the 2018 Occasions Catalog by Stampin’ Up! She and I used an emboss-resist technique where embossed images become the perfect receptacle for watercolor coloring.

We also cut our shapes out and created depth and dimension with Stampin’ Dimensionals adhesive foam.

Stampin' Dimensions Layering

Here’s a side-view of my card so you can get a better look at all the layers used to create lots of dimension on my card.

I embossed my images with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and a Heat Tool on watercolor paper. Emerald Envy and Tangerine Tango ink is painted in the recessed areas with an Aqua Painter. After doing this twice, I cut leaves and flowers from the Lovely Wishes stamp stamp and adhered them with Stampin’ Dimensionals; you may also use new Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere smaller areas.

Burlap Ribbon and Linen Thread add more texture and coordinate with the watercolor paper beautifully. I hope you enjoyed the card today. If you did, please leave a comment; I love them. I’m also happy to answer questions. If you really want to get in on the fun, join us at Global Design Project and show us a project inspired by Louise Sharp’s card.

This is absolutely gorgeous, Shawn! I tried so hard to use this stamp set for this week’s challenge but couldn’t make it work for me the way you’ve made it work for you. GORGEOUS!
