Tropical Chic by Stampin' Up!

Happy Monday and happy summer! Today I’m sharing a Tropical Chic card inspired by the warm weather that I am just so ready for. I think you’ll love the suite of products available in this theme, but today I’ll only need a few to make a bright and fun card.

Global Design Project #GDP144

Global Design Project Challenge #GDP144 CASE the Designer: Charlet Mallett.

This card is inspired by our CASE the Designer challenge—this week at Global Design Project. Today we are CASEing Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team Member, Charlet Mallett. I loved the layout of Charlet’s card and that’s what I focused on, but remember: when you CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) a card, you can be inspired by any of its parts.

I started with a Whisper White card base and chose a subtle design from the Tropic Escape 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper pack to completely cover the card front. Other designs from the paper stack build up the next layers and the Triple Banner Punch made it easy to cut a banner shape out of one of them.

My color palette is pretty in pink with a few pops of color from the my favorite new greens: Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce. A little Basic Black helps break up the background from the foreground.

Quick Tip

If you are having trouble coordinating colors, let Stampin’ Up! do the work for you. Each package of Designer Series Paper now describes the color palette right on the label. How easy is that?

Tropical Escape 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper

The color palette of Designer Series Paper is a great way to start, and I certainly could have completed my card with any combination of those, but to add a little “burst” of color, I stamped the hibiscus flowers from the stamp set using Berry Burst ink. With tons of new colors added to Stampin’ Up!’s repertoire this year, I’m sure you can think of lots of other combinations that would look great too.

You Are the Greatest, Tropical Chic

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed the card. Don’t forget to play along at Global Design Project and show us your CASE of Charlet’s card.
