Welcome to InKing Royalty’s June Blog Hop! This year’s Blog Hop themes are inspired by a single word and this month our projects are centered around the word “New.” With the launch of Stampin’ Up!’s 2019 Annual Catalog, New gives us the opportunity to showcase new products and play with new colors. There are also new occasions (babies, weddings, graduations) to celebrate, so you are going to see a variety of projects in this hop. We are excited to share our creations with you today. After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.
Today I’m sharing the Free as a Bird Bundle—new to the 2019–2020 Annual Catalog. The bundle includes a sweet stamp set and versatile dies hexagon-shaped label dies that you’ll surely use for all sorts of projects.
Of course you can get the stamp set and dies separately, or you can SAVE 10% when you buy the bundle.
My card started by embossing the birds with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on watercolor paper. Aqua Painters and a variety of Classic Stampin’ Pads and were used for watercoloring. I used Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, Petal Pink, Pool Party, Sahara Sand and a new In Color—Pretty Peacock to color the image.
After the image was completely dry, I embossed the sentiment with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and the image was cut with one of the Stitched Nested Labels dies.
For the card base, I folded a standard card made of watercolor paper and cut the front in half. I embossed some stitches to the edge with the border die included in the set and painted a light wash of Pretty Peacock.
Next I stamped a piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock with more images from the stamp set using the same color ink, then glued that piece under the cut front.
For some extra bling and to tie in the gold sentiment, I added a band of gold to the bottom of the card-front. I simply tapped Versamark ink over the bottom edge of the card, and embossed with gold powder. Finally the focal image was popped up on the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you’ll hop along to the next stop on the blog hop, Sue Jackson at Just Peachy Stamping. There’s lots of inspiration to be found in this group and you don’t want to miss it!
